AM2 Mock Test: Section E Applied Knowledge Practice
The AM2 ends with Section E, a one-hour computer test of 30 multiple-choice questions. It is the same idea on AM2, AM2S and AM2E: after two days on the rig, you answer questions on health and safety, BS 7671, the Building Regulations, and inspection, testing and fault finding.

How many questions are in the AM2 knowledge test?
Section E is a computerised multiple-choice test of 30 questions, and you get one hour. Our mocks use the same format.
What does the AM2 knowledge test cover?
Health and safety, BS 7671 requirements for electrical installations, the Building Regulations, and inspection, testing and fault finding. The questions are about applying that knowledge on a real installation, not just remembering facts.
Is the knowledge test the same on AM2S and AM2E?
Yes, all three versions finish with Section E, the Assessment of Applied Knowledge. AM2E is for experienced workers and AM2S for apprentices, but the knowledge test covers the same four areas.
What is the pass mark for AM2 Section E?
NET does not give a pass mark in its candidate checklist, so check with your AM2 centre. Our mocks use 60% so you can track your progress.
Are these real AM2 questions?
No. Every question is written by us from BS 7671, IET guidance, the Approved Documents and free health and safety guidance. We never copy NET or awarding body questions.
