Privacy Notice

Last updated: 7 October 2026

1. Who we are

FreeMocks (freemocks.co.uk) is run by [LEGAL NAME], [REGISTERED ADDRESS]. We are the "controller" of your personal data. ICO registration number: [ICO NUMBER]. Contact us about privacy through freemocks.co.uk/contact.

2. What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, your name if you give it, and your login details (passwords are stored securely and we can't see them).
  • Guest use: if you try a free mock without an account, we create an anonymous guest session so your answers can be saved.
  • Your study activity: the mocks you start, your answers, scores, flagged questions and settings.
  • Payments: when you buy a Pro pass, Stripe processes your card. We receive your email address, what you bought, the amount, the date and Stripe's reference numbers. We never receive your full card number.
  • Your agreement at checkout: a record that you agreed to immediate access, with the date and time.
  • Messages: anything you send through our contact form or support chat. Our support chat is answered by an automated AI assistant; chat messages are stored so a person can follow up if needed. To stop abuse we store a one-way scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, not the address itself.
  • Technical data: the basic information your browser sends when you use the site, and login information kept in your browser so you stay signed in.

3. Why we use it (and our legal basis)

  • To provide your account, mocks, results and Pro access (contract).
  • To take payments and keep financial records (contract and legal obligation).
  • To answer your messages and support requests (contract and legitimate interests).
  • To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems (legitimate interests).
  • To improve our questions, for example by looking at which questions are often answered wrongly or flagged (legitimate interests).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers who process data for us under contract:

  • Supabase: database, login and hosting of your account data (UK, London region).
  • Stripe: payment processing.
  • Anthropic: the AI that powers our support chat (only the chat messages you send).
  • Lovable: website hosting.
  • Our email provider: sending login and account emails.

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK (for example in the USA). Where they do, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards such as adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

We may also share data if the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

  • Account and study data: while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete it, apart from records we must keep by law.
  • Payment and checkout-consent records: 6 years, for tax and legal reasons.
  • Contact and support chat messages: up to 12 months.
  • Guest (no-account) data: removed when no longer needed.

6. Cookies and browser storage

We only use the storage needed to make the site work, such as keeping you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. If we ever add analytics, we will update this notice and ask for your consent where needed.

7. Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Contact us through freemocks.co.uk/contact. We'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113). We'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.

8. Children

FreeMocks is for people aged 16 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 16.

9. Changes

We may update this notice from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
