2391-52 Inspection and Testing Mock Exam
The City & Guilds 2391-52 qualification covers both initial verification of new work and periodic inspection of existing installations. The written exam tests whether you understand why each inspection and test is done, the order they are carried out in, the instruments and test methods you would use, and how to judge and record the results.
Our 2391-52 mocks follow the same format as the written paper and are written from BS 7671:2018+A4:2026, the IET On-Site Guide and Guidance Note 3. They are designed to sit alongside your practical training, not replace it.

What the mocks cover

Who this mock exam is for
These mocks suit qualified electricians who want to sign off their own work and carry out Electrical Installation Condition Reports. If you already test as part of your job, they help you put the reasons behind each test into words, which is exactly what the written paper asks you to do.
Questions cover safe isolation, the sequence of tests, continuity of protective conductors and ring final circuits, insulation resistance, polarity, earth fault loop impedance, prospective fault current, RCD testing, and completing certificates and reports correctly.
How to get the most from the mocks
Sit the first mock under real conditions: books you are allowed, the full time limit and no stopping. Then work through every workout, including the questions you got right, because the reasoning is what the exam tests.
Many 2391 questions involve a short calculation, such as working out R1 + R2 for a ring, correcting a reading for temperature or checking a measured loop impedance against a maximum value. Our workouts show these step by step so you can see where a mistake crept in.
Pay attention to classification codes and observations. Knowing when something is C1, C2, C3 or needs further investigation is a regular source of lost marks.
How FreeMocks works
Free mocks, no sign-up. The first mocks on every live exam are free. You can start one straight away without an account, and create one afterwards if you want to save your result.
A real timer. Each mock runs to the same time limit as the real exam, so you learn your own pace. You can flag questions and come back to them before you submit.
No feedback until the end. Just like the real exam, you don't see whether you are right while you work. When you submit, you get your score and a review of every question.
A full workout. Each answer comes with an explanation, why each wrong option is wrong, a memory trick, step-by-step working for calculations and the regulation reference. Pro unlocks the full workout on every question and every mock.
Questions are written by us from scratch and are not real exam questions. FreeMocks is independent and is not endorsed by City & Guilds, EAL or the IET.
